What is so specific about KenDia?
How it started
I am often in Kenya and India in areas where people live on the edge of the poverty line. There I develop ideas together with the people, some social organizations and other local partners in my network, what the next helpful step could be to improve the living environment of the people and then ... let's do it. We often start small, learn and develop the activities together.
During my work and travels I was able to establish contacts with self-help groups of tailoring women in India and Kenya. The idea of an online shop was born in order to be able to sell your products in a wider environment.
There are so many stories to tell
Three chickens in the hands of a woman with albinism can make a world of difference. To be able to buy a bar of soap or make it yourself, especially now in the COVID crisis, but also in other times, makes a big difference.
A few goats, self-confidence building, animal health training, support group activities to grow mushrooms or learn to sew together, and more basic knowledge in many areas ... all of these can be a starting point for making a lasting difference.
KEnDIA the online shop, Fair & Care, helps bring these products onto the market. With the income, the women can better feed their children and families, buy seeds and medicines and pay school fees.
This online shop KenDia helps the "little people" in India and Kenya to generate income and to gain courage. To do meaningful work that matches their talents. And getting paid fairly for it. It is not factories but the women themselves who design their workplaces and prices that seem right to them. And also develop the design. All products are handmade and unique.

Our values, our world
The KenDIA Online Shop is more than an online shop that sells products from Kenya and India. It is primarily about giving people on the poverty line a chance to shape their own lives better. Of course, all costs have to be covered, production and manufacturing costs, electricity and water, machinery and repairs as well as transportation, customs duties, taxes and advertising costs. A small profit in Germany as a reseller is also part of it. But above all it is about fairness and justice, about humanity and a better future for those who live on the edge of the poverty line. Thanks to everyone who helps to create a togetherness based on partnership, income-generating and fair values.
